Your first digital product sale, in seven days
A first sale isn’t about audience size or budget: it’s about order. Read the demand before you produce, publish before you polish, post before you wait, measure before you go again. Seven days, one action a day, nothing to spend — and the only entry condition is having people who already ask you for something.
The order matters more than any single step: it’s what saves you the three weeks spent perfecting a product nobody asked for. If your file already exists, you can start on day 3.
· Novoca
€0/month. Novoca only earns when you sell.
Payouts currently require a French bank account.
The one condition
You need visible demand. Open your last ten videos and read the comments looking for three sentences: “do you have a PDF?”, “can you share that?”, “where do you sell this?”. Three occurrences are enough. If you can’t find them, the week starts differently: post two videos that show your know-how in action — your worksheet, your session, your recipe, your dashboard — and wait for the question. It almost always comes.
That reading is the part nobody does for you. When you connect your TikTok account, Novoca reads the title and description of your videos plus their public counters (views, likes, comments, shares), and pulls out the themes your account carries. It doesn’t open the comments: it can see that a video got people talking, not what they said. So what it gives you is a solid hypothesis about your topics — to be checked against the sentences only you can read. That crossover is day 1.
The seven days
1 Day 1 — Read the demand, pick the product
Connect your TikTok to Novoca — pasting your handle alone only reads your public bio: the analysis of your videos gives you the themes they carry best, the videos that carry them, and a format per theme — guide, checklist, program, prompts, scripts. Hold them up against the comments you just read and pick the one with the most explicit demand, not the one you like most. If you’re torn between two niches, the “what to sell on TikTok” tool gives you three ideas and a price range.2 Day 2 — The file, then the price
If your product already exists — a PDF, a template pack, a folder of worksheets — upload it: there’s nothing to write, and it’s the shortest path to day 3. Otherwise Novoca writes a first version of the product and the page from your material; read it like a demanding buyer, cut what doesn’t sound like you, add a real example, delete the generic lines — you’re signing it, so it has to be yours. On price: stay inside the proposed range, a first product sells in the middle of it, never “€5 to get started”. The price calculator explains why. Turn on the order bump if a small add-on is obvious — the shopping list for the recipe guide, the tracker for the program.3 Day 3 — Publish, verify, swap the link in bio
Publish. Verify your account (a code to place in your bio, or connecting TikTok from your dashboard): that’s what turns buying on. Replace your link in bio with the storefront — not a homepage, the product page. If the link isn’t clickable on your account, fix the link-in-bio problem first: the rest of the week depends on it. Then post the first video, the behind-the-scenes one: “a hundred people asked me for this file, so I made it, it’s in my bio”. Nothing more. Face to camera, thirty seconds.4 Day 4 — The demo
Put the product on screen: a page of the guide, a session from the program, the template open. The demo is the best sales page there is, because it answers the buyer’s only question: “is this actually what I want?”. End on the simplest line: “it’s in my bio”. Create a tracking link for this video in your Novoca dashboard — tomorrow you’ll know what it earned.5 Day 5 — The reply to a comment
Take a real comment (“does this work for beginners?”, “do I need equipment?”) and answer it on camera, using TikTok’s reply-to-comment feature. It’s the video that converts the undecided best: it kills an objection in public, in front of everyone who had it too. Separate tracking link.6 Day 6 — Measure, change one thing
Open your creator dashboard: visits and sales per video. Lots of views and few clicks: change the call to action in the video (say “in my bio” earlier, and more clearly). Clicks but no sale: it’s the page or the price — read your page on your phone like a stranger, shorten the headline, check the price is visible without scrolling. Change one thing only, or you won’t know what worked.7 Day 7 — The nudge
One last short video: “for anyone who was on the fence”. Take the best of the three (the one with the most clicks per view) and reshoot it with the same hook and a new angle. If you have abandoned checkouts, Novoca has already sent a reminder to the people who opted in. Then run the day 4-6 loop again, every week.
What Novoca does — and what it doesn’t
What it does. The account analysis and the theme choice (day 1); hosting the file you upload, or writing a first version if you’re starting from nothing, then the sales page, three TikTok scripts and a fourteen-day content calendar (day 2); the checkout, the automated email delivery and the online reader on every sale; the per-video tracking links and per-video stats (days 4 to 6); the abandoned-checkout reminder for buyers who opted in (day 7).
What it doesn’t do. It doesn’t post for you — the three videos are yours, and they’re the part that decides. It doesn’t read your comments. It doesn’t invent demand that isn’t there: if nobody is asking you for anything, no amount of generation creates the wanting. And it handles none of your paperwork.
After the first sale
The first sale is a signal, not a result. Here’s what it should trigger, in the order that matters.
1 Connect your bank details the same day
You were able to sell without an active payment account, but the grace period is bounded: three sales or €150 pending, and the page pauses; sixty days without activation, and buyers get refunded. A paused page the week a video takes off is the most expensive way to lose momentum.2 Ask the buyer what made them decide
One message, one question: “what made you click?”. It’s the only qualitative feedback you’ll get for free at this stage, and it beats any statistic — it hands you the exact sentence to put in the next video.3 Reshoot the video that sold, not the one you liked
The tracking links name a winner. Take its angle and its hook, change the example. An audience tires of a working angle far more slowly than you think — and three quarters of your followers never saw the first one.4 Widen the basket before widening the catalogue
A second product costs as much as the first; an order bump costs an evening and lifts the basket immediately. Same idea for a bundle of what you already have: it sells for more than one more separate item.5 Switch to a subscription only when the division says so
A 0% commission plan only becomes worth it above a certain monthly revenue — that’s a division, not a hunch. The platform fee comparison gives the calculation and the break-even for each platform.
What makes a first sale fail
1 Polishing the product for three weeks
A product at 80% that is online sells; a product at 100% that doesn’t exist doesn’t. The first version is there to teach you what your audience buys, not to impress anyone.2 One video, then waiting
A video reaches a fraction of your audience, once. Three videos in four days, three angles (behind the scenes, demo, objection), is the minimum for the news to reach the people who follow you.3 Promising a result
“Lose 5 kilos”, “make €500 a month”: you don’t measure it, you can’t guarantee it, and on health or money it’s legally exposed ground. Sell what the product contains and the time it saves.4 Faking sales or reviews
A fake counter, a fake testimonial: deceptive commercial practice in most jurisdictions, and pointless — your audience knows you. Social proof comes from real sales; Novoca only shows a counter from three copies genuinely sold.5 Changing the price every other day
Your audience sees your page more than once. A price that moves teaches them to wait for the drop. Set it, hold it, measure — then decide.6 Sending the file by hand “just this once”
It works three times, then you forget someone, then you’re handling a dispute, then you stop posting because of the work each video creates. Automated delivery isn’t a convenience: it’s what makes next week possible.

Common questions.
How many followers do I need to sell?+
Fewer than you think, and it isn’t the right metric. A first sale comes from expressed demand — comments asking for the file, the method, the program — not from a follower count. An account with 3,000 followers where 20 people ask “do you have a PDF?” sells before an account with 100,000 that only entertains.
What if nobody buys in the first week?+
Look at the link first: how many people clicked from each video? Zero clicks means the video or the call to action is the problem; clicks with no sale means the page or the price is. Fix one thing, repost, measure. The method is a loop, not a single shot.
Can I run ads to speed this up?+
You can, but not in week one: until you know whether your organic audience buys, ads pay to learn what three videos would teach you for free. And a product that doesn’t convert organically rarely converts on paid traffic.
Does the product have to be written by AI?+
No, and it isn’t even the shortest path if your file already exists. A PDF, a template pack, a folder of worksheets gets uploaded and sold as is — there’s nothing to generate. Assisted writing is for someone starting from a blank page, or who wants a draft to correct and sign off.
Do I need a Stripe account before I start?+
Not to get going. On Novoca you publish and sell first: the platform collects for you, and you activate your Stripe account (bank details, ID, five minutes) afterwards — pending sales are paid out to you then. That grace period is bounded: past three sales or €150 pending, your page pauses until your bank details are connected, and after sixty days without activation buyers are refunded. Don’t let admin delay the first video — but connect your bank details on your first sale.
How long should the product be?+
Long enough to do the job you promised, and no longer. A checklist that saves someone an evening is worth more than fifty pages nobody finishes. Ship the version that solves one problem completely; depth is what you add in version two, once buyers tell you where they got stuck.
What if I already have a file but no audience asking for it?+
Then week one changes shape: post two videos that show the know-how in action — your worksheet, your session, your recipe, your dashboard — and wait for the question. If it never comes, the file isn’t the problem and neither is the platform: the demand hasn’t been expressed yet, and no tool invents it.
